Redtailed Hawk

Remote camera, camera trap. My favorite way to get in close. Shot with 100mm L lens, I found it was too closely placed. Additionally, the sensor was so sensitive there were many false triggers due to flying bugs.

Started having trouble with ants getting all over my camera, as I don't have a sealed box yet. So I put my camera out in the open. My two friends came to check it out. I definitely take better photos when I'm not behind the camera.

Early morning appearance from these adorable baby foxes. Parents were close by.

Camera trapping allows a person to take themselves out of the equation. I know of no other way to get close to truly wild animals.

Redtailed Hawk

The plan was to capture the Hawk airborne just before landing, but the Hawk approached from a different direction today. Luckily the sensor was still able to pick him up. The feet however are out of the frame.

What's that noise? I need to see if I can eat it!

Raccoons are the reason I don't keep my camera out over night. They sometimes go after my trail cameras, even disabling them. Someday I will hopefully have a protective box for my camera.
