This image was captured early morning, just hours later I would hold this hummingbird's exhausted body in my hands. I had left the door open to my barn and a flock of sparrows had flown in, I think that's when this hummingbird inadvertently entered. It was in the rafters, confused and tired. I climbed up to rescue it and as I was questioning how I was actually going to get back down, a FedEx delivery man came. The man was able to take the little bird from my hands and safely release it. I'm so grateful to the FedEx man, and for the life saved. I'll never keep the door open again.
