This is the mother bluebird who lost her mate just as incubation of her eggs began. One thing that I have done is provide her with meal worms and wax worms a few times a day. She comes to the feeder when I whistle. Today I received an order of larger meal worms, which she loved. Harold R. Spencer Bluebird Trail.

Father bluebird was killed at the beginning of the incubation period. Mother bluebird has been completely raising these babies on her own. Harold R. Spencer Bluebird Trail. iPhone image taken by my daughter Lindsay.
