I wish I could include the sounds this little fawn was making while nursing :)
White-tailed Fawn nursing. This was amazing. It was a challenge to manually focus the camera through the jungle like timber without moving very much and scaring the doe away.
When I saw this in the Iowa river I wanted to run for my life! I believe it's actually a turtle, a soft shell turtle to be more exact. You can't tell from the image but this thing was massive! "These turtles are very unique. Their shells, which can be up to 2 feet in length, are soft and flexible to help them easily hide under sandy bottoms of lakes and streams. Their long nose is sometime referred to as a bottle-nose. They keep their snouts close to the water surface in order to breathe. Soft shells are aggressive."
